KAWS has been pretty busy recently, and now, he has collaborated with Mexican laguer brand DOS EQUIS. Putting his trademark 'X' eyes all over the DOS EQUIS Bottle. I don't think we shall be seeingthese on sale here thoug as it is only available in Mexico as of now.
Every decade there comes an artist who stands out amongst the crowd. In my opinion, there would be a handfull per decade. But very rarely does the light shine upon one so often and so bright .. There was , Dali , Warhol , Koons , Hirst? - - that it makes you think... this is the one. That artist in that moment, deserves that much light upon them. The reason for this will always remain a mystery and i would never want to know. This preserves the awe factor and the magic that is what is blessing my eyes.
I would always want to become an artist. Prolific, free ,proud , enigmatic, marketable, never hungry, never stopping, always responsible for your work. Is it Warhol that said? I think it's about time artists, don't starve or become hungry. I would like to become that kind of artist.
Well in this train of thought, Here's KAWS in his exhibit opening. In this decade, for me...There is no light brighter shined upon than there is on KAWS. I'm not complaining. - - "There goes my hero, watch as he goes. He's ordinary."

It's always good to have to worlds collide. When two worlds collide, there is introduction to new things, new ideas, ideals, and morals. When two worlds collide there is also uncertainty and chaos usually resulting in change. For the better or for the worse when two worlds collide, enlightenment is sure to arise. Especially if those two worlds, or in this case, minds are open enough to learn from each other. In talk @ playground super producer Pharrell Williams and art phenom KAWS talk about what keeps them doing what they do and they talk about how each personally thinks about the criticism on each of them as they chase their dreams.
KAWS: KAWS started out as a grafitti artist. After moving to New York in the 90’s, he made his mark (literally) by subverting imagery on billboards, bus shelters and phone booths. As KAWS’ popularity skyrocketed, his altered ads became wanted items.
PHARRELL WILLIAMS: Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter/producer Pharrell Williams has made history as one of the most successful and prolific entertainers to emerge during the last decade.
There is no denying that KAWS is one of my idols. From his cartoon style to the colors that he uses. He truly reminds me of a modern , more evolved Warhol. Seeing art applied and accepted in so many functional ways is something quite endearing to me. This time he worked with Kiehl's
100% of the net profits goes to different charities around the world. Plus they also did a cover/feature with Harper's Bazaar Korea. Talk about X dealing.
